About Me

I am a Timber Frame Specialist based in Surrey, creating handcrafted oak frames. My projects range from oak carports, summer rooms, pergolas, porches and trusses

As an oak frame carpenter, my main objective is maintaining the highest quality of work possible, this is achieved by cutting all my timber frames by hand. I pride myself on using traditional framing methods, including tried and test woodworking joints. I have a well rounded knowledge of the build and design of timber frames, this proves invaluable when setting out to craft a new project and meeting the clients requirements.

My comprehensive experience and time spent hand crafting every oak frame, enables me to offer sound advice to builders, architects and clients when trying to capture the look and feel of a new oak frame. This also gives peace of mind, to all involved in the project, when thinking about the structural capabilities of the timber.

I offer a full design service using CAD, making planning and visual decisions a much smoother process.

Please take a look at the projects I have been involved in and feel free to get in touch.

Design and Build

Daniel Kursa Oak provides a full design, build and erection service for every oak frame.

Always trying to achieve the perfect balance of size and style, I design every frame individually, using Computer Aided Design when required. CAD is invaluable when applying for planning, and is also an excellent visual tool for client's to see the frame before I commence a build.

Why Oak?

Creating history - Oak is famous for its’ durability against infestation and rot, so it needs very little, if not at all, any maintenance. Built with thought and care, an oak frame created by Daniel Kursa Oak will no doubt last centuries.

Why Oak?

Whether you're opting for a traditional look, or a blend of modern and old; oak is the perfect medium.

It's durability, strength and timeless appearance gives oak the edge over just about any other timber when framing. All oak used in our frames is from managed sources throughout Europe. Green oak requires little to no maintenance, whilst it can be treated and oiled if required.
